Many brass players occasionally give their horns a “bath” from time to time and that is often helpful to remove some of the junk that gets deposited in our horns.

Even so, I strongly recommend that you get your instrument to a professional technician once a year who can give it a thorough chemical cleaning. We have equipment, products and use several techniques that are just not practical for the average brass player to do on their own.
